#PulaskiCountyCASA is celebrating #WorldDownSyndro #PulaskiCountyCASA is celebrating #WorldDownSyndromeDay.

World Down Syndrome Day is marked each year on March 21, beginning in 2007. The 21st day of March was selected to signify the uniqueness of the triplication of the 21st chromosome which causes Down Syndrome.

#WithUsNotForUs is key to a human rights-based approach to Down Syndrome, which views people with chromosomal differences as having the right to be treated fairly and to have the same opportunities as everyone else, working WITH others to improve their lives.

Meet Destiny Coleman. She is an Intern at #Pulask Meet Destiny Coleman. She is an Intern at #PulaskiCountyCASA. Destiny is from Forrest City, AR, and is currently in the Social Work program at UALR. Destiny recently became a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., an organization committed to the constructive development of its members and to public service. She also served as her university's Student Government Association - Senator at Large where she was able to represent the student body to the college administration and make important decisions.

Destiny's goals are to develop relevant skills to showcase on her resume and gain first-hand experience, professional opportunities, and personal growth all while advocating for children who cannot advocate for themselves. She is excited to learn and grow as an Intern.

In her free time, she enjoys taking photos and spending time with family and friends.

We are excited to have Destiny on #TeamCASA and have been impressed by her passion, knowledge, and desire to help children.
