Please help us welcome our newest member of the Board of Directors - Juan Carlos Hernández. We are very excited to have him join in to help Change A Child's Story!Juan Carlos Hernández is an Immigration Attorney originally from Guadalajara, México. He works at The Hernandez Law Firm, PLLC with his brother Guillermo. He has been Assistant Counsel for the Consulate of Mexico in Little Rock, AR since 2015. He graduated from the University Of Arkansas School Of Law in 2013 where he served as Vice-President of the Hispanic Law Students Association. While in Law School he worked part-time for the IOLTA Foundation and clerked at the Prosecutor’s Office 6th judicial District. Before that he lived in Miami, FL working in the banking industry. He earned the degree of Bachelor in Business Administration, and Master’s Degree in Business from Harding University. While in college he was a member of the Harding University tennis team, and was awarded a tennis scholarship as a player and later as a Graduate Assistant Coach. Juan Carlos has a passion for helping immigrants, as an immigrant himself going through the immigration process from a student visa holder to become a U.S. Citizen in 2015. He has represented clients in Immigration Court, in Memphis, TN; Dallas, TX; Oklahoma City, OK; Jena, LA; as well as in Arkansas Circuit Courts and Federal Court. Juan Carlos has been a member of numerous minority associations and Hispanic committees during his career, especially while he resided in Miami, and the South Florida area. Juan Carlos lives in Little Rock, AR. as a former college athlete, he enjoys all kinds of athletic activities outdoors. Next, meet Michal D. Harris, our newly elected Vic Next, meet Michal D. Harris, our newly elected Vice President.  Michal has served on the Board of Directors for the past 2 years. 

Michal is a native of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, and has lived in Little Rock now for 10 years.  He works at the University of Arkansas Pulaski Technical College in the position of Assistant Registrar.  At the University of Arkansas Pulaski Technical College, Michal serves as Vice President of the Bylaws Committee and is a member of the Non-Academic Appeals Committee. 

Education is a primary factor in the life of Michal; he earned his Bachelor of Science in Management from the University of Arkansas Pine Bluff in 2006, Master of Business Administration with a focus in Human Resource Management in 2012 from Purdue University Global, and is currently pursuing his Doctorate of Business Administration in Leadership from Walden University. 

In the community, he serves on the Racial, Cultural Diversity Commission for the City of Little Rock; Arkansas State House Society; member of Young Urban Professional League; Boys and Men of Color; and Arkansas Volunteer Association.  Over the past two years, Michal has achieved success as the Executive Director of his own youth nonprofit, “Ikarus Youth Outreach Program.”

The next Board member we want to introduce to you The next Board member we want to introduce to you is Brittany Ford.  Brittany has served on our Board of Directors since 2018 and serves on the Executive Board as Secretary.

She is a litigation attorney with Quattlebaum, Grooms & Tull PLLC.  Raised in Arkansas,  Brittany graduated cum laude from the University of Arkansas School of Law where she was chosen by her classmates to receive the Outstanding Contribution to the Law School Community Award. She received a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Millsaps College in Jackson, Mississippi, where she served as Student Body President. In 2015, she earned a Master’s in Accounting.

As we continue to introduce our Board, we want to As we continue to introduce our Board, we want to emphasize that Pulaski County CASA Board of Directors plays a critical role in the success of Pulaski County CASA. The board guides the program in various areas including compliance, strategic planning, fundraising, recruitment, budgeting, marketing, and program development. 

Today we would like to introduce you to Tim Giattina who has served on our Board since 2018. Tim is an attorney and partner at Hodge Calhoun Giattina.  Tim graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 2003.  Following his graduation, he moved to Washington, D.C., where he worked in various political capacities.  In 2007, Tim moved to Little Rock to pursue a joint masters/law degree at the University of Arkansas Clinton School of Public Service and William H. Bowen School of Law.  After law school, Tim practiced with a nationally prominent personal injury attorney specializing in automotive and tire product liability litigation.  He then worked in risk management, managing litigation, and providing coverage analyses for insurance syndicates based in the Lloyd’s of London market.  Before founding Hodge Calhoun Giattina, Tim worked as a litigation attorney specializing in civil defense. 

Tim lives in North Little Rock with his wife Annie and their two dogs.  A former college athlete and sports fan, Tim plays tennis, basketball, and golf, and most Fall Saturdays you can find him watching college football.
